Brazilian squad ace Neymar promises to draw attention in next matches because of something that goes way beyond his abilities. At this Saturday's match, in Mineirão stadium, against Chile, for the last-16 of the World Cup, he shall wear golden football boots - one of his dreams since he was a child.
On an Instagram post, this Wednesday (25), Neymar published a photo of the shoes, together with a text message and the squad's jersey.
In the text, Neymar admits he always wanted a golden pair of football boots and, many years ago, he tried making some himself, trying to imitate his idol, forward Robinho. Turns out his trial didn't work so well.
"He used to wear golden football boots and I dreamed of having a pair just like his! When I played for Portuguesa Santista, I decided I would have golden boots, just like my idol. I PAINTED THEM MYSELF GOLDEN AND WHITE, wasted two paint tubes lol and in the end of the match they were all black again", Neymar tells and laughs.
Living a completely different financial reality, he now has original golden football boots, as he has always wanted. He hopes the new work fellows to give him luck in the game against Chile, that may put Brazil right at the quarter finals of the World Cup, against the winner of Colombia vs Uruguay.
Check out Neymar's complete message on Instagram:
"I have always been a Robinho fan, I still am and I'll always be. At that time, he used to wear golden football boots and I dreamed of having a pair just like his! When I played for Portuguesa Santista, I decided I would have golden boots, just like my idol. I PAINTED THEM MYSELF GOLDEN AND WHITE, wasted two paint tubes lol and in the end of the match they were all black again lol. But it was worth it, even for a few minutes, having the experience of having on my feet a pair of football boots I dreamed about having!! Today, GOD made one more of my dreams come true... Having boots like these!!! I have always believed in everything I thought was more important: I have always struggled to get what I dreamed about and I don't stop believing and dreaming!!"
